With the West Coast by far
best location
At the far end of Tjörn’s west side, on the herring island Klädesholmen, is Salt & Sill – the restaurant with the West Coast’s by far the best location. A lovely jetty and windows with sea views give an almost unreal proximity to the sea – a spectacle worth a visit whether they are still, windy or lying on ice. Skärgårdskrogen has since its inception in 1999 been known for its food strongly characterized by high quality, local ingredients and coast and sea. The restaurant has been awarded the rating “Worth a trip” and “White’s heart” by White Guide and the quality award “West Swedish mersmak” by the West Swedish Tourist Board. Salt & Sill serves traditional Bohuslän dishes mixed with innovation and herring, as their own specialty. The restaurant has 175 seats and in summer 120 seats on the pier.

Here you enjoy fish, shellfish and the specialties “Sillplankan” and “Klädesholmaren” which have contributed greatly to the archipelago restaurant’s international recognition and lift herring as a food experience. Ever since the start in 1999, the menu has been strongly influenced by local ingredients from the coast and sea.
