If you want to get a total experience of sea and rocks, a visit to cozy Dyrön is a must. The hiking trail is a total of 5 km long, but you can choose a shorter distance. It is easy to find the way because there are yellow painted posts at short intervals. Along the trail there are rest areas with benches and tables, so please bring a coffee. The trail is in mountainous terrain, but there are stairs, ledges and railings in the difficult places. However, healthy legs and shoes suitable for mountain walks are required. It can be slippery in the mountains and on wet, sometimes slippery, pressure impregnated boards.
Senior package is the hotel package for our seniors (60+), we now offer a favorable package for arrivals between Sunday and Thursday. Enjoy a relaxing day with a two-course dinner at our archipelago restaurant.
Stay overnight in our floating hotel and enjoy the restaurant's food inspired by the sea and the coast. A full day in the kayak awaits when you check in at Salt & Sill on Klädesholmen.

The time of autumn truffles has now come and we want to raise this "gold of the kitchen" a little extra this weekend with our specially composed package where the autumn truffle adds a golden edge to our 5-course menu in the package.
This year we want to invite you to an experience out of the ordinary, a tasty and atmospheric stay, all in the spirit of Christmas! The buffet is laid out with a large selection of our own pickled herring. From our fish counter, salmon, shellfish and lots of other fish delicacies are served, and from the meat counter, the majority of different hams, sausages and other meat delicacies are served. You will also find a section with small hot items such as meatballs, prince sausages, spareribs and finally we welcome everyone to our candy room, which is like stepping into an old-fashioned candy shop with all the fantastic Christmas sweets.
Celebrate the new year with us at Salt & Sill. We promise you a lovely atmosphere and a tasty 6-course supper. Welcome the new year with us with the sea as a neighbor. Check in with us from 13.00 to be served a set table with Afternoon tea. Then you will be assigned a sauna session and maybe a cold bath for those who dare? Then join us on a torchlight walk around Klädesholmen where we serve a glass of bubbly.
FLOATING HOTEL AND MEETING VENUE
In October 2008, Sweden’s first floating hotel opened, adjacent to the restaurant, which is also a meeting and conference facility with 48 beds and year-round operations. Here, guests can hold conferences and socialize in a calming sea environment, eat and drink well and then fall asleep to the sound of lapping waves. Despite the quiet environment, there are all opportunities for exciting and fun activities with a focus on the sea as well as food and drink. The staff are professional and service-oriented and put all their effort into meeting – not the customer – but the person in person. Salt & Sill is the hotel and meeting place with a pleasant, quiet environment marked by Nordic modern simplicity.
No, we didn’t get hubris, we didn’t appoint ourselves to this, CNN Travel did in April 2018. And they’re not alone in praising us, The Telegraph, Financial Times, Independent and Evening Standard done. More on that later.
We usually say that if it’s just a hotel bed for the night you’re looking for, you should probably book with someone else. You come to us when you want more. More divinely beautiful Bohuslän surroundings. More letting the lapping of the waves rock you to sleep. More dip your feet in the sea when the morning dawns and before the morning slippers have had time to put on. More relaxing atmosphere.
The drive from Gothenburg only takes 45 minutes and once you arrive at our place on Klädesholmen, which is located in Tjörn’s outer archipelago, you will quickly discover (if you have not done so before) that it is not an ordinary hotel you have booked into. Our rooms run on the best we have out here; the sea. The hotel part of our business rests on pontoons and consists of six two-story buildings that accommodate 46 beds and 23 rooms, one of which is a suite.
All the rooms have their own entrances and if you book one on the lower floor, there is a good chance that it has its own bathing ladder. How many other hotel rooms can boast that?
When it comes to the interior, the idea is that it should not compete with the spectacular view, so the rooms are characterized by Nordic modern simplicity.
It would have been very stupid of us not to use a roof that has such a fantastic location for something. That’s why we’ve turned it into a large sun deck where you can relax and enjoy a wonderful view. And who said it had to be summer to be enjoyable on a sun deck? With the help of blankets and warm clothes, magical moments are offered here all year round.
Yes, the loveliness of summer in all its glory, but the other seasons have so much to offer if you ask a true lover of everything Bohuslän has to offer. The sunsets are no less beautiful, the stillness is much more palpable and the heart rate drops even faster during the periods of the year that some would call “off season”. If you have once experienced a crisp October weekend or a frosty February weekend on Klädesholmen, you will always long to return to it.
But what about the praise from the world press? Condé Nast Traveler wrote this about us in September 2016: “This once-sleepy fishing isle is Sweden’s largest herring producer and now home to Salt & Sill, a Scandinavian-minimalist “boatel” floating on a pontoon, which means you can jump into the sea for a pre-dinner swim. Be sure to order the excellent pickled herring, paired here with Aquavit (the caraway complements the smokiness of the fish).”
And the Evening Standard had us on the exclusive list of “6 of the coolest boatels in the world” that they named in April 2016.
