As Christmas approaches, we set the Christmas table at Klädesholmen. Here, in the heart of Bohuslän, herring has been a part of life for generations—and of course, it takes pride of place on our Christmas table as well.

The evening begins with herring and flavors from the sea and continues with Christmas classics, our own favorites, and everything that belongs on a traditional Christmas buffet. Take one plate at a time, linger a while, and let Christmas begin by the sea.

Bring your family, friends, or coworkers and turn your Christmas dinner into more than just a meal. Maybe you’ll start with a stroll among the houses on Klädesholmen; maybe you’ll stay the night once the last plate has been cleared away.

Experience an atmospheric evening at Salt & Sill with a classic Christmas table filled with homemade delicacies and Bohuslän flavors. After dinner, a good night’s sleep awaits at our floating hotel and the next morning a breakfast buffet overlooking the winter sea.

Welcome to a day filled with herring, archipelago and community!

On National Day, we traditionally celebrate Herring Day on Klädesholmen – a festival for the whole family where we celebrate the history of herring and life by the sea.

During the day, the island will be filled with a market, music, herring talk, children’s activities, guided tours, boat trips and a great atmosphere along the piers. On the pier, long tables are set up where you can enjoy a classic herring plate and at the same time support the important work of the Sea Rescue Society.

🚌 Free shuttle buses from Skärhamn & Rönnängs ice rink to Klädesholmen.

Open from kl. 11.00. We serve herring buffet as lunch of the day – drop-in only.

Open from 11.00 with a pizza buffet and a great atmosphere at the dockside – drop-in only.

🍸 Saltbaren

Opens at 14.00 – Troubadour Tomas Johansson entertains, the bar is filled with good drinks and in honor of the day we serve a generous load of fresh oysters from our fantastic supplier Johan i Hallen & Bergfalk. The proceeds from the oyster sales go in full to the Sea Rescue Society.

Celebrate mom with a lunch by the sea – a day to gather, enjoy and give her the attention she deserves. At Klädesholmen, we set the table for a Mother’s Day to remember, with a three-course menu that reflects the season and the proximity of the sea.

Here you sit close to the water, with the cliffs and archipelago as a backdrop. The pace is calm, the atmosphere warm and everything is prepared for you to land, socialize and enjoy the moment together.
