On the far western side of Tjörn, on the herring island of Klädesholmen, is where you'll find Salt & Sill - the inn with the best location on the west coast. A glorious seating area on the pier and a window with a sea view give an unbeatable closeness to the sea. This island restaurant has, since its launch in 1999, become famous for its Herring Platter and for serving food with a strong focus on quality, locally produced raw materials, local traditions, and the sea. The restaurant has been awarded the status 'Worth a Journey' and 'White's Heart' by White Guide, the Swedish Restaurant Guide, as well as the quality accreditation "Västsvensk Mersmak" by the Tourist Board for the West of Sweden. Salt & Sill serves traditional regional dishes, combined with innovative thinking, and its speciality, herring. The restaurant seats 175, plus another 120 outside on the pier.
